    Scott,
You may have answered this in the past, however; I can\\\\\\\’t remember. What exactly comes with your back grounds and props? Like in this case this one prop has like 8 different layers with it. Will I get the psd file with everything already in it and also if I join the club do i have access to past props or just the one monthly special prop?
    Thanks for your time
    John

    Scott,
I am going to wear you out with questions today…hehehe I was looking at purchasing the Mystical Backgrounds Set at your Ebay store, however; it states that it has 8X10 constraints on it. What does that mean? What if I wanted to make a big print like the one you are show in the Digital Creations Club video? I would love to do a 20X30 of my little girl in this. If I join and purchase am I held to the same constraints? I want to be able to make the $224 prints even if just for myself… Sorry to bug you so much today.
    John

  4. Hi John,

All our files are saved at 300 dpi – 3000 x 2400. The constraints are for an 8×10, but you can print up to a 20×24 and still get great results.

Of course your image quality will have to match the larger pictures size. We’ve printed up to 20×30 with these same specs and always get great results.

    You should too!

    Scott

    Hi Scott,

Thank you for your videos / blogs / digital props.

I’m just starting out. Just wondering if you guys offer copyright release of photos to your clients, or offer it as a pkg deal? If you don’t, your reasons why.

It is a popular thing where I live but of course I don’t want to offer it if it’s considered a bad idea. When I got married, our photographers had it as a pkg deal but perhaps it is different in the portrait world.

    Thanks!
    Jennifer

Scott this digital background is amazing. I know all of the backgrounds you offer are hands down the best quality available because I have used many of them. I love the cover up layer that you invented as well but, being able to change the scale weight hand is pure genius! I absolutely love the ability to change the backdrops as well and thank you also for the tip of pre-loading favorite digital backgrounds. What a time saver! Thanks again!

  7. Hi Jennifer,

We don’t sell the copyright to the images we create. We would have to get paid a lot of money to offer this service.

If you sell the files themselves…your clients won’t purchase any extras…Ever!

Once you start to offer this…it will be expected. Be Careful!

    I hope this helps.

    Scott,

I joined your club this week and I am glad that I did! Your work is amazing. I have one question. I see your items on ebay that I would like however I do not see them on your member site. I am interested in the “Bath Time Collection” If it is there and I do see it I appologize. If not do I get the same member discount from ebay?

    Thanks,
    Tyler

  9. Nicole says:

Hi scott Do you give a tutorial on how to cut the subject out of the origianl background to place in the digital background? When I try it my subject looks very Choppy. I would really like to purchase some digital backgrounds and props but I dont want to spend the money until I know I know how to do it!
    Thanks
    Nicole

  10. Hi Nicole,

Here’s a link to an older blog post that should help with your cut outs.

    http://newportraitbiz.com/blog/188/

You may need to copy the address to your web browser if it’s not clickable.

There’s also a lot of videos in the member’s area that help with this technique.

    I hope this helps.

    Scott

  11. Hi Tyler,

We should be adding most of our Ebay items to the club over the next few months. These were created before we started the club and consist of large files that come on CD-Roms.

We will let you know when these are added.

Hi Scott I love uesing the backgrounds and the coverups are wonderful. I have a few questions. How do I get your ebook and in one of your lessons i think you talkabout uploading pictures to the internet to show people your work i can\’t seem to find this again. I was wondering what was the name of the site.
    Thanks

  13. The Ebook was taken offline after we changed the name to NewPortraitBiz. The updated version is included is in our course NPB Business Plan.

We do give out our special report during the pre-releases of NPB called the “Getting Customers Report”.

All our subscribers will be notified when the report is released and all the other content that’s created for the next release.

I’m not sure what site you’re referring to for hosting. The one I recommend using that’s free is Google Sites. http://sites.google.com

You can also create a free blog on http://blogger.com and host pictures to show your clients. These are for marketing purposes only and not a shopping cart for customers to order through.

    I hope this helps.

    Scott

  14. Hello Scott,

First of all BIG thank you for inspiring and encouraging me to make my photographing a lifestle. Your knowledge is priceless and makes me believing.

i read a lot of your stuff and your blog here and finding vast of tips and inspiration about professional making photos.

I am trying to start my blog site with wordpress. Actually it’s already set up, but when i look at yours I wonder how can I get that kind of background? I do not mean the same one, but how to set custom background, how to add a logo?

Is there a chance you give us a couple of guides about a blog, about setting it up?

    Thank You again,

    Piotrek

  15. Yes…I am planning on releasing some help videos for setting up a blog. I think it’s very important for your business to have a blog/Website.

I may create a video showing how to set up a blog on the two most popular platforms – http://blogger.com and http://wordpress.com .

    I’ll keep you posted.

  16. Nancy says:

    Hi Scott,

I purchased the Moon digital background because right now I just couldn’t afford to buy the special. But…watching this video – well, I’ve got to have it!!! Since I already purchased the one, can I add on the other two at the same special price?

I have been using your backgrounds and am loving it! The only problem is that I stay up into the night “playing” with the digital backgrounds!

Thanks for all you and Lisa are doing to help make photography so much fun and profitable too!

    Thanks,
    Nancy

  17. Hi Scott,
I absolutely love this digital prop. Having the ability to move that hand around to show the babies weight is awesome! Definitely unique and I doubt anything like it is available anywhere else. But as usual, you’ve outdone yourself with this one. I have had so much fun using your props in the past, and I love seeing the delight on peoples faces when they see their photographs using one of your props. You have truly helped me promote my business, and for that (and other things) I THANK YOU!

    Sincerely,
    Judy

  18. Brian Adams says:

    Hey Scott,
Another great video. I like the wicker scale. You talked about loading the various back grounds into the programs, can you talk on that and give some direction on how we do that.

    Again Thank You
    Brian

  19. Robert says:

Very good video, the Wicker Scale is a very nice prop for shooting Babies Portraits. Just have to learn to understand all the Technical Photoshop stuff, such as layers, so I can create some great portraits with the many Digital backgrounds I have already purchased from NewPortraitBiz.

  20. Scott,
I\’ve used this one in several of my settings as a \"bonus\", selling lots and have customer\’s asking for it each time. They LOVE that I can set the weight of their child on the scale, which gives it a more realistic feel. Thank you for the GREAT digital prop and backgrounds. Keep them coming.

awesome as always bought the scale awhile back

  27. Samantha M says:

What instance of photoshop are you using because I have the new adobe elements 9 and it is impossible to use and this one looks way easier :)

  28. Samantha M says:

Also where can I buy the CD with the digital backgrounds on it ??

  29. I was using CS2…but now I use CS5. I have used Elements 6 and 8 in the past also. The tools I use are pretty universal in every version of Photoshop, just in different locations.

You can buy our CD’s on Ebay. Just look on the right of the blog to visit our online store.
