I received this email from Debbie and I wanted to share it with everyone. I think it’s very important to realize that most people have some kind of fears and struggles in life, but the ones that constantly Take Action…will succeed.

I’m not sharing this to brag, just to allow you to see that you’re not alone and everyone experiences some kind of challenges through their journey.

I want you to read this and be inspired for this upcoming year and make the decision Today, that you can do this.

Here’s what Debbie wrote to us onĀ  Christmas day.

====================================

Hi Scott

I know its the end of the day on Christmas but I couldn’t let the day go by without sending out a message to you, Lisa & the kids. I hope you all had a great Christmas! Ours was hectic like always, but it was great! George was home this year for Christmas after missing last year while in Afghanistan so that was all worth it.

I want to thank you all for NPB, I have learned so much & improved so much over this past year of owning NPB & being on the forum since its beginning. I could never thank you guys enough for all you do.
I never would’ve thought that over a year ago when I emailed you to ask if you sold your digi images from ebay in sets that it would lead me to where I am now.

You sent me an email back saying that you had “something in the works” about putting a set together & I had no idea what I had stumbled on with finding you on Ebay & sending you that message.

I have gone from doing portraits in my living room using a point & shoot, no lights & a white sheet on my wall & doing maybe 1 or 2 shoots every couple months to owning a studio, (tiny but its a start)owning NPB along with hundreds of other digi BG that I’d bought before.

Now owning a Nikon D40, AlienĀ Bee lights & having 10 clients just in Dec & actually winning 1 weeks group assignment & getting HM on a couple other weeks, doing 2 weddings & a little league baseball team of the cutest kids. I’m still no where near where I want to be but its a huge improvement over before.I hit some bumps in the road & couldn’t get everything you offered this year but plan to catch up on what I can get after the first of the year.

I do need to find out if BizControl is still available to purchase as well.

Its been an awesome ride & I look forward to 2010!

Keep up the great work & know that your extended family here in KY are right there with you!

Luv & hugs to you all!
Debbie

I hope you feel inspired after reading that and see that it takes, passion, desire and a commitment to yourself and your dreams.

Keep focused!

Scott

  5. This is a great testament to how we can not do it alone and the power of many. And if we push on with help of like-minded individuals, we find ourselves to be in places and do things we never imagined were possible or dreamed of.

Happy New Year 2010 and to Scott for creating a supporting and loving NPB family where accomplishments like Debbie’s are possible and common.

Scott, you’ve provided a great venue and great products of value that help photographers, newbies & veterans alike, to bring their photography business & skills to the next level.

I had the privilege of getting to know Debbie through the NPB forum. We both joined at the same time and found we lived within 15 minutes of each other. We have since become good friends and talk to each other quite often.

Debbie has worked hard to put into effect all the principles of business and photography that you so freely offer on the website and blog. Now she is actually seeing some of the results you predicted would come to pass if she persevered. These results would work for anyone provided they stay focused and follow your model. It works!

Debbie continues to inspire me and all those who are part of the NPB forum. Thank you Scott and Lisa, I really appreciate all your hard work and generosity.

That was a VERY INSPIRING letter! I am just starting out with my business…literally! I have been a macro floral photographer for years and recently had a change of heart for portraits, especially since I am now a mother of 3 kids under the age of 4! This letter really inspires me to learn as much as I can and Scott’s videos have started me in the right direction! Thank you so much for posting this letter!

  8. Robert says:

  10. A Happy New Year to everyone.

    Lots of success Debbie.

  11. Carol says:

As a member of NPB and the forum I can honestly say it has been a great help to me. I belonged to another group and NPB is the one that provides the best of everything, support, marketing ideas, awesome examples showing what everyone has learned to improve their photography and business. With photographers just starting out and yet bringing new ideas to the table to ones that are seasoned veterans I can’t say enought. A big thanks to Scott and Lisa for starting the venture and sharing it.

  12. Debbie says:

Thank you all for the kind comments on my letter. When I sent that email out to Scott & Lisa & Christmas Day I never dreamed anyone would see it but them.
I have been a NPB owner since the very first release over a year ago now & on the NPB forum since it\’s beginning. It takes time to make anything work but just keep trying & keep the faith in yourself & your work & in time it will happen.
Like I said in the email, I am no where near where I want or need to be but Id probably still be sitting at home with a point & shoot & a sheet on the wall if it wasnt for NPB & everyone involved with it.
Joe on the forum is such a wonderful person to share his many years of knowledge with us newbies & we have several that are experts in different areas that dont think twice about sharing that knowledge with us all.
I have made many dear & close friends thru NPB too & look forward to many more. Like Bekkie said we found each other thru NPB & we get together when we can to shoot & visit & practice what we\’ve learned.

If any of you out there just subscribe to Scotts blog & do not own NPB yet……you need to seriously consider it whenever it is available to purchase. Its a lil bit of an investment but I have gotten that investment back a thousand times over in knowledge, friendship & business. (and no Scott didnt pay me to say that! lol)
I believe that with everything in my heart.

    Thanks again
    Debbie

Thank you Scott, for sharing Debbie’s email. Very inspiring. My wife and I are starting an photography studio business out of our home. Its alittle rough being that both of us are working full time jobs, which is taking alot of our time, but we are still moving forward. This email is just what we needed to keep us moving forward. Again, thanks Debbie,Scott and family. :-)

  15. Truly inspiring! Trying really hard to get some comissions and promoting the website, going to ask some relatives and friends to let me shoot their kids and hopefully bump up the images on my website.
